Sidlaghatta : ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆ ಉಳಿಯಲು ಹಾಗೂ ರೈತ ಮತ್ತು ರೀಲರುಗಳು ಈಗಿನ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬರಲು, ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕೆ.ಎಸ್.ಎಂ.ಬಿ ಮೂಲಕ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಬೇಕು ಮತ್ತು ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅಡಮಾನವಾಗಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ರೈತ ಸಂಘದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಭಕ್ತರಹಳ್ಳಿ ಬೈರೇಗೌಡ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಶಿಡ್ಲಘಟ್ಟ ನಗರದ ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಗೂಡಿನ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಗೂಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯ ಧಾರಣೆ ಏಕಾಏಕಿ ಕುಸಿದಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಮತ್ತು ರೀಲರುಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.

“ಫೆಬ್ರುವರಿ 17 ರಂದು ಒಂದು ಕೇ.ಜಿ. ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಗೂಡಿನ ಸರಾಸರಿ ಧಾರಣೆ 675 ರೂ ಇತ್ತು. ಇವತ್ತು 400 ರೂ ಗೆ ಕುಸಿದಿದೆ. ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಕೂಡ ಒಂದು ಕೇ.ಜಿ ಗೆ 5,500 ರೂ ಇದ್ದದ್ದು 3,600 ರೂಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದಿದೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಈ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆಯ ಎರಡು ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳಾದ ರೈತರು ಮತ್ತು ರೀಲರುಗಳು ಸಂಕಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಸಿಲುಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯನ್ನು ಬಗೆಹರಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತರು ಹಾಗೂ ರೀಲರುಗಳು ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದೆವು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

“ಈ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಿ ನಾವುಗಳು ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ರಾಮೇಗೌಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪಆಯುಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತು ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಮಂತ್ರಿ ಅವರನ್ನೂ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿದ್ದು, ರೈತರು ಹಾಗೂ ರೀಲರುಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗುರುವಾರ ಭೇಟಿ ಮಾಡಲಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ರೀಲರುಗಳಿಂದ ಕೊಂಡಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಉದ್ದಿಮೆ ಉಳಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಹಿಪ್ಪುನೇರಳೆ ಸೊಪ್ಪು ಕೊಂಡು ಮೇಯಿಸುವ ರೈತನಿಗೆ ಸರಾಸರಿ 550 ರಿಂದ 600 ರೂ ಒಂದು ಕೇಜಿಗೆ ಖರ್ಚು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಆತ 350 ರೂಗೆ ಮಾರಿದರೆ ಏನಾಗಬೇಕು” ಎಂದರು.

ರೈತರು ರೇಷ್ಮೆ ಗೂಡಿನ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಾವು ಬೆಳೆದ ಗೂಡನ್ನು ಮಾರುವಂತೆ, ನಮ್ಮ ರೀಲರುಗಳೂ ಕೂಡ ತಾವು ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಾಟ ಮಾಡಲೂ ಒಂದು ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕು. ರೀಲರುಗಳು ಪರ ಊರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಾವು ಶ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಉತ್ಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಕಚ್ಚಾ ರೇಷ್ಮೆಯನ್ನು ಮಗ್ಗದವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಸಣ್ಣ ಚೀಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಯಾವುದೇ ಬಂಡವಾಳವಿಲ್ಲದೇ ಶಿಡ್ಲಘಟ್ಟದ ರೀಲರುಗಳ ಹಣದಿಂದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಕೊಡುವ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಇವರು ಹೋಗಿ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಚೀಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ಕೋಟ್ಯಂತರ ವ್ಯವಹಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಮಂದಿ ಮೋಸ ಸಹ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.

ರೈತರಾದ ತಾದೂರು ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಮುನಿನಂಜಪ್ಪ, ಎಚ್.ಕೆ.ರಮೇಶ್, ದೇವರಾಜ್, ಕೆಂಪಣ್ಣ, ನಾಗರಾಜ್, ವೇಣುಗೋಪಾಲ್, ಏಜಾಜ್ ರೀಲರುಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಅನ್ಸರ್ ಖಾನ್, ಅನ್ವರ್ ಸಾಬ್, ಆನಂದಕುಮಾರ್, ಜಿ.ರೆಹಮಾನ್, ಫಾರೂಕ್, ಮುಜಾಹಿದ್ ಪಾಷ, ಕುಚ್ಚಣ್ಣ ಅನಂತು ಹಾಜರಿದ್ದರು.

Silk Industry in Distress as Raw Silk Prices Fall, Farmers Call for Government Intervention

Sidlaghatta : In the wake of a sudden fall in the price of silk cocoon and raw silk at the silk cocoon market in Sidlaghatta, Bhaktarahalli Byregowda, State General Secretary of Farmers Union, has called for the government to purchase raw silk through KSMB and keep it as mortgage. Byregowda, speaking at a meeting held by farmers’ and reelers’ leaders, stated that the survival of the silk industry and the welfare of farmers and reelers depend on this move.

According to Byregowda, on February 17, the average holding of a silk cocoon was Rs 675 per kilogram, but it has now fallen to Rs 400. Similarly, the price of raw silk has dropped from Rs 5,500 to Rs 3,600 per kg. This has put immense pressure on the industry, and the farmers and reelers are in distress.

“We have contacted Silk Commissioner Ramegowda and Deputy Commissioner and Silk Minister to find a solution to this problem. Farmers and reelers are going to meet them on Thursday,” Byregowda said.

To address this issue, the government needs to create a market for reelers to sell their raw silk, just like how farmers sell the cocoons they have grown in the silk cocoon market. Byregowda added that reelers go to villages, give the raw silk produced by their labor to the weavers, and write it in a small slip. Those traders then trade with the money of Sidlaghatta reelers without any capital. After several months, they go and collect the money they had given.

Byregowda concluded by highlighting that the government must purchase raw silk from reelers to help them survive. A farmer who buys and grazes mulberry leaves spends an average of Rs 550 to 600 per kg. If they sell the silk for Rs 350, they are in trouble. The government’s support is necessary for the survival of the industry and the welfare of farmers and reelers.
